Lossless team is further expanding and acquiring new talents. We have a fresh addition to our team in the tech division. Meet our new Developer — Arūnas! Welcome to the team!
Growing our team is inevitable with the goals Lossless has in store. We asked Arūnas a few questions to better introduce him to the community. Here’s what he had to share with you all.
Why are you in the crypto space? How have you collected your experience?
Before crypto, I was working in an AdTech platform called Eskimi as a Technical Support Specialist. Later on, while gathering more and more tech experience, I started experimenting with ad code, analyzing large quantities of data, and writing my own custom scripts, which helped me do my job easier. These 3 years were great and I owe it to them because this was the start of my self-taught programmer career.
But of course, after getting some coding experience, I randomly stumbled upon Web3, Blockchain technology, and it looked really interesting to me. My first thought was “Cool, I can have a back-end, without hosting it on the server and only UI needs to be done.“
After that, I read documentation, did tiny small experiments with code, and after Eskimi joined my first crypto project Brokoli Network. There I have gathered my main experience working with Web3, building user DEX, IDO functionality from scratch, implementing and interacting with contracts. This was a lot of fun — at first, it was intimidating, but later on, it becomes your second nature.
How and why did you join Lossless? What’s your role?
I was following Lossless for a very long time. At first, it looked like a niche product, scarce to use. Later, diving a lot deeper into other project structures, their contract code from time to time, and reading articles… It appeared that this is definitely not a small product, but pretty much a highly needed one in crypto.
Let’s look at this space — project contracts get exploited, wallets get hacked, user tokens are being stolen. It’s a serious problem. So I joined Lossless to fight this rampant challenge, and make blockchain a safe, hack-free space, one transaction at the time. I am transitioning to a full-stack developer, hoping to bring what I know and learn more techniques to make crypto a safer place.
Do you have a vision for DeFi security?
DeFi security is a hot topic — we all see articles about hack A, B, or C. It hurts young projects, especially those who have a unique idea, and concept. And with Lossless we are building almost like a standard for new token creators to have instant token security. Imagine that one day you enter a project's website and see a big badge — “Lossless secured”. This brings trust in the community and lessens the fear of potential security risks.
Any message to the community?
Stay safe out there. A lot of scam artists offer great project incentives but once it launches… In a lot of cases, nothing like it was described and offered is presented. Here are some tips:
- Always read project whitepapers — most of the time they have core information about the project for you to learn.
- Be on the lookout for huge out-of-the-blue changes — that’s not a good sign.
- Look into the development team — check their Twitter, LinkedIn profiles, to see if they are definitely legit.
- Always double-check who you are dealing with — if someone you don’t know reaches out and offers great goods, be suspicious of it and check everything thoroughly to not fall victim to social engineering.
- Try reading up on what type of hacks/exploits are rampant in the DeFi space. I believe for a user to know these things can surely be helpful, and having that knowledge you can help other people too.
