Lossless Team Expands: Meet Francisco and Ignacio, our new Developers
Lossless team is expanding!
This time, we are welcoming Francisco, a full-stack JavaScript developer, and Ignacio, a Solidity developer. Since timely product delivery is what makes or breaks the project, two seasoned developers with years of experience within their respective fields are crucial additions to our team. Welcome aboard — we’re glad to have you!
We’ve asked our new developers a couple of questions about their journey to DeFi, their drives, and what makes them stand out in their fields. This is what they had to say:
What got you into Crypto?
Ignacio: I got into Crypto around 2016. At that time, Ethereum’s name could be found everywhere. After researching what it was all about, I wanted to know everything about how smart contracts worked and their possibilities. That’s when I got hooked. In the world of Crypto, you’re learning new things every day — every sentence you read leads to an indefinite number of ideas and concepts you are yet to discover. That is something I haven’t found anywhere else.
Francisco: The disruptive capabilities of decentralized technology. I truly believe that with the right set of people and technological capabilities, DeFi will usher in a shift to an entirely new paradigm. I hope to be a part of this transformation.
What excites you the most about this industry?
Ignacio: DeFi. Decentralization of Finance feels like one of the most innovative ideas of the past years and one that still hasn’t matured or reached its full potential. New protocols, ideas, and solutions are born every day — some are so ground-breaking that they completely redefine the industry’s perspective on things. To be in the middle of this is enormously exciting.
Francisco: The technological capabilities and the number of opportunities that can be found in the DeFi industry. I trust that the decentralization of finance will bring a lot of positive changes and improve the welfare of society as a whole, and I genuinely do think that it will make our world better.
What motivated you to join Lossless?
Ignacio: Lossless mission resonated with me. The solution seemed like the next logical step in DeFi maturity. Since the number of malicious actors and exploits in the industry drives away many people — a Lossless-like layer of security is badly needed to ensure mass adoption. What motivated me to join Lossless in particular is how well thought out the process of adding the security layer was, and the people within the Lossless team united in their pursuit to bring this solution to reality. With that foundational understanding and the right set of people in place — anything’s possible.
Francisco: Lossless project piqued my curiosity a long time ago — it was one of those rare gems within the industry that actually had a purpose beyond profit. When I saw an open position within its developer team, I did not hesitate to apply. This was my chance to get involved in DeFi and apply myself and help rid the industry of hackers, scammers, and the like.
What is your previous experience?
Ignacio: I’ve been working as a Developer and Tech Lead in banking and finance for the past ten years. Also, these past two years, I’ve been taking part in diverse Solidity projects ranging from token creations, leading ICO roadmaps, coaching, and auditing. In terms of education, I always felt that the current educational system is too restrictive and anachronistic. That’s why I’ve always preferred an objective-based path to learn new technologies, and that’s why I am self-taught.
Francisco: I discovered what I wanted to do in life a very long time ago and have focused both my education and career primarily on software development and innovation. I consider myself to be a pretty competitive and entrepreneurial person — quick to get to grips with new challenges and technologies. Formally, I am an Art Director and a certified Java Developer.
What makes you stand out within your field?
Ignacio: Without a doubt, my capacity to quickly and seamlessly adapt to change. Being self-taught and an enthusiast of new technologies, I’ve always faced challenges that required reinventing myself and keeping my skills up-to-date. With Solidity, the challenge wasn’t only technological, but the pre-existing centralized school of thought had to be torn down so that new decentralized thinking could begin to take root.
Francisco: Passion — I genuinely love my work. I’ll even spend my free time experimenting with new technologies and developing products of my own. That enthusiasm about what I do is also reflected in the fact that even as I have almost a decade of experience, I still get excited over the newest technological trends and features.
Why do you think your work matters?
Ignacio: I believe that I can make a meaningful impact on the DeFi industry, helping to protect market participants from malicious exploits and scams that continue to tarnish the industry’s reputation. As a developer, I write clean, secure, and efficient code that has the potential to directly influence the future direction to a more secure and mature DeFi industry.
Francisco: By helping to bring the Lossless purpose to life, I make sure that our product is developed to the highest security standard and will prevent fraudulent transactions, rug pulls, and hack-related exploits.
